Microblogging site Twitter has reportedly suspended American president Donald Trump’s eldest son’s twitter account for 12-hours following his misinformation spreading tweet spree from last Modnay night.
According to initial reports, the account belonging to Donald Trump Jr. has been blocked from tweeting and re-tweeting for 12-hours, after he endorsed a series of tweets making dubious claims and charging conspiracy theories on hydroxychloroquine drug for treating coronavirus.
The US president previously got entwined with the micro-blogging platform over fact-checking policy. Earlier this year, Twitter got into strife with Donald Jr. Trump over after the micro-blogging giant slammed a fact check tag on Trump’s twitter.

Twitter was among other major social media platforms where the particular conspiracy video was uploaded and went viral, but has now been removed by respective platforms.
Twitter has removed the video from President Trump’s handle which he posted on Monday night, as the video is against twitter’s coronavirus misinformation policy.
The video, first published by right-wing media Breitbart News had a group of doctors making dubious claims about hydroxychloroquine and its ability to treat the novel coronavirus.
Twitter spokesperson told CNN that the account is not “permanently suspended.”
“It is beyond the pale for Twitter to silence someone for sharing the views of medical professionals who happen to dissent with their anti-hydroxychloroquine narrative,” Trump Jr’s spokesperson was quoted as saying.
