While minor accidents can be anticipated while playing on a swimming pool with kids, nobody on earth would expect a whole airstrike by a fighter plane. It is certainly a little too much.

A shocking video captures the moment when a warplane strikes a domestic swimming pool where a family was playing with their kids in Kuna Masi in the Kurdistan Autonomous Region in northern Iraq. It is a disputed region with Ankara (Turkish capital) in recent years for a militant group that hides in the region’s rugged terrain.

Turkish army carried out an air raid in the immediate vicinity of the bathers, and the strike was just a few inches away from a woman on the pool when it hit. Fortunately, no one was injured according to reports.

Two men and two women were enjoying the pool with their kids. One of the women was filming the moments while a huge swoosh sound comes rattling the stability of the camera, and all the members could be seen panicking and screaming out of fear, as they rush to find a safe spot. It was an airstrike that hit the pool!

Watch the goosebumps-inducing video below:

“Do you think that’s okay?” the author of the video Jîl Şwanî wrote on Twitter while sharing the scary footage online. “This is my brother playing with my nephew when a Turkish bomb hits Kuna Masi 20 meters away.”

“Luckily they’re safe and back at home now. But if you slow down the video you see a large boulder narrowly miss my nephew’s head (left side of the screen),” Şwanî wrote in a reply to someone asking if the family was okay after the strike.

According to initial reports, three people were killed including children. It is said that the Turkish airstrike was targeted to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) which Ankara deems as “terrorists” for their decade-long denial of the Turkish state.

The militant group hides in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdish region, according to reports, and Turkey launched the cross-border air and ground operation called “Tiger Claw” on June 17th, Aljazeera reports.

Netizens were sorry for the family’s close encounter to death

NOTE: The post has been updated with a correction that wrongly stated the place of the incident as Iran while it was Iraq.
