Man Commits Suicide After A Fake Travel Agent Dupes Him For Rs. 10L - We The World Magazine

A 37-years old Ludhiana man allegedly committed suicide after his friend cum travel agent duped him for Rs. 10L on the pretext of sending him to England for settlement.

According to reports, Jagmohan Singh who consumed poison in his home was keen to settle abroad. His friend Gruinder who also happens to be a travel agent per se took the hefty sum of money from Sing and assured to help him obtain a work permit there.

In 2013, Sing was sent to England via a tourist VISA. When Jagmohan returned, Gruinder reassured him to get him back to England, this time on a PR. However soon he started to delay the refund because he could no longer keep his promises, Sing’s sister Sukhjit Kaur tells TOI. Jagmohan then committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance in his house.

Gruinder has been booked under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the IPC, Koomkalan police station ASI Sahib Singh said. Jagmohan Singh did not file any complaint with the local police.
