Starbucks just handed out free ‘carry the merry’ holiday cups to buyers who bought from one of the few handcrafted holiday drinks from the coffee chain’s festive offering.
The US-based coffee giant announced the holiday season special Friday where buyers got to take the reusable festive cup home with the purchase of a few flavors in participating locations across the US.
Stocks were limited and people got to take only until it lasted.
The cup was given for free to folks who ordered from Starbucks Delivers and picked the drinks up from stores (including in café, drive-thru, and curbside).
Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Eggnog Latte, among others, came in adorable festive-themed cups which the coffee chain gave back.
They say the cups were designed mingling the iconic Starbucks elements with the freshness of the festivities. Solid colours dominate the design of the fun and quirky cups.
Like every year, this year’s theme was ‘carry the merry’ and the Starbucks holiday cups are designed a tribute to the bright moments, albeit little in life, the company says.
“Our thought behind the cups this year was about people carrying them out in the world as messengers of joy,” said Jeff Wilkson, creative director for Starbucks in a statement.
“In a way, that message deepened as we got further and further into this year. We want to be that beacon for people, a brief moment that they can look forward to.”
So, yes. Unfortunately, if you managed to grab one on November 6th, kudos to you and your festive cup collection. If not, then I guess, you’ll have to wait for the next round.
But as far as celebrations are concerned, the Seattle-based coffee shop is stocking their repertoire with festive servings including Christmas Blend whole bean coffee, Cranberry Orange Scone, Christmas Blend Espresso Roast, Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, Snowman cookies among others.
