Delta flight force-lands for unruly passanger

Kolkata, India: Authorities said a passenger on a Delta Air Lines aircraft from Los Angeles to Nashville got disruptive and attempted to approach the cockpit, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Albuquerque, UPI reported.

According to the FBI, there was no public safety danger and no injuries were reported during the event. At Albuquerque International Sunport, the passenger, whose name was not released, was detained.

Another passenger on the aircraft, Grace Chalmers, told CNN that the man "apparently unprovoked" got up and rushed the pilot's cabin, knocking on the doors.

She claimed that another passenger tackled the man and that the man was kept on the ground for the 20 minutes it took the plane to make the unplanned landing with the assist of the cabin crew.

Six crew members were onboard the Boeing 737-900, which carried 162 passengers. Passengers on Flight 386 were forced to spend many hours in Albuquerque before Delta was able to reroute them to Nashville.
