Brussels, Belgium: On Saturday, three construction workers were declared deceased and two were still missing, a day after a school construction site in Antwerp, Belgium, partially collapsed.
Three victims were discovered under the rubble, according to the city’s fire service.
“Despite this terrible toll, the rescue work continues unabated until we are also able to free the two remaining missing persons,” it said.
Police told local media that two of the dead were from Portugal and Romania.
The nationality of the third worker that died was unknown. When three people remained missing, rescuers stated they were hunting for two more Portuguese and one Russian.
On Friday afternoon, nine other people were hurt in the incident. No pupils were present because the school was still under construction.
The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.
On Saturday, Belgium’s King Philippe was set to pay a visit to the scene.
