Here's how to quickly link Aadhaar to PAN before March 31st
Siliguri, India: Just a few hours, and the PAN-Aadhaar linking deadline is supposed to be over. Citizens failing to link the two identification documents will supposedly entail the PAN going obsolete starting tomorrow, midnight.

The mandate to link PAN with Aadhaar came after the GOI revealed the Finance Bill 2021, making it mandatory to link PAN with Aadhaar by March 31st, 2021.
Section 234H in the Income Tax Act, 1961 meant to penalize those who fail to link the two documents within the deadline.
Starting from 2017, several extensions to the mandate were made, but in 2021, the law was finally established making it mandatory for the two cards to be linked together.

If you have not followed the instructions yet, here's how to link Aadhaar to PAN before March 31st

Step 1: Open the Income Tax department’s e-filing portal here.
Step 2: Locate the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option on the left side of the homepage where a list goes under 'Quick Links or click here.
Step 3: Once the Aadhaar Link box pops open, enter the PAN number, and name as on the Aadhaar card.
Step 4: In case, your Aadhaar card has only a year of birth instead of a complete date, use the check box provided or leave it unchecked.
Step 5: After you're done inputting the details click on the 'agree' checkbox to validate your Aadhaar details UIDAI.
Step 6: Finally, enter the captcha code and click the 'Link Aadhaar button' below to complete the procedure.
The above-mentioned steps are supposed to take at least 2 minutes if all the procedures are followed. Linking Aadhaar to PAN is not chargeable and can be done completely for free online.
