Huge fire breaks out in Beirut following the deadly blast

A huge fire broke out near the Beirut port a month after the deadly blast wiped off the entire vicinity and killed over 190 people, arising fear among the public.

Social media footages confirm the fire of a significant scale as thick dark wreaths of smoke arise from the spot with the clear blue sky in the backdrop in the Lebanese capital where the charred remains from the first blast are still intact.

According to reports, the Red Cross society has ruled out any possibilities of another explosion from the fire and as per current knowledge the spot of the fire was a warehouse storing oil and tire, Beirut army said.

“Operations have begun to extinguish the fire and army helicopters will take part,” the military said in a Twitter statement.

The onset of the fire following the August explosion has invoked a sense of panic among the public and according to AJ+ news, a father and was traumatized after the fire outbreak.

The August blast blew up over hundreds of thousands of homes in the port area, sending shockwaves over one hundred kilometers away from the epicenter.

Weeks after the deadly blast, the Lebanon army announced finding another potentially dangerous and huge stockpile of ammonium nitrate fertilizer which caused the previous last and rendered over 300,000 homeless.

“Where are we living? This is the scene of the crime a month ago! Where is the judiciary? Where is the state? Where is responsibility?” Human rights researcher Omar Nashabe tweeted.
