Moscow (Russia): Five people sustained injuries in a shooting in the US city of San Francisco on Saturday, all of them are in non-life-threatening condition, police reported.
The shooting occurred between Eddy and Taylor streets in the Tenderloin neighborhood at approximately 9:45 p.m. local time (5:45 GMT on Sunday). The police initially reported at least three victims.
“This investigation is active and we have 5 shooting victims. Preliminary information is all victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Firearms have been recovered,” they added in a follow-up tweet.
According to reports on social media, an armed man opened fire near a grocery store in Downtown San Francesco and is currently on the run. Witnesses reported encountering three to five being affected by the open fire from the suspect.
Images show heavy police presence in the scene with multiple SFFD vans present, and several paramedics kept on standby. Roads leading to the scene were reportedly cordoned off by the police.
‘This investigation is active and we have 5 shooting victims. Preliminary information is all victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries,’ the SFPD said in a statement, reported the Daily Mail.
The police’s night investigations unit will lead the probe.
