Biblical horror: Cops allegedly hammer nails in man’s body for not wearing mask

-

Kolkata, India: A man in Uttar Pradesh reportedly lived through the Biblical horror where cops allegedly hammered nails on the hands and feet of the man for flouting mask mandate enacted by the state to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As India fights a devastating second wave of the novel coronavirus, several states around the nation have imposed strict social distancing and mask-wearing mandates to curb the virus from spreading.

Lockdown violators in India have been told that they must pay a nominal fine and be given a warning. However, in recent days, several cases of police brutality have surfaced in India for flouting the rules.

In an extraordinary such case, police allegedly went to the extent of hammering nails on the body of a fully-conscious man in the Bareilly region of the UP state, known for police brutality, toxic patriarchic culture.

The name of the man remains unclear in the video footage that was widely shared on social media. Scenes show the man holding his hands with the nails projecting out and wincing and crying in pain.

As per the man’s narration, the police also physically assaulted the man before unleashing Biblical horror.

Jesus Christ was crucified by hammering nails on the limbs with a wooden cross.

As per media reports, the UP Police Department has yet to make a public statement on the matter. This isn’t the first time that a case of police brutality has been reported on India’s social media.

A 35-year-old man was ruthlessly beaten up on a road by two police officers in Indore, a major city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, last month for not wearing a mask properly.
