While the pandemic of novel coronavirus is still ruling over human lives, the gregarious locusts have now made its appearance with might, as if to join hands with COVID-19 to execute the work of destruction with renewed energy. Why another blow when we already have so much to deal with? Is mother nature mad at us?

While locusts do come every year, but that does not balance or justify the damage they do. This year, in India locust attack, is worst in nearly three decades. That too at a time of historic crisis like this. Even though we have been warned by prophecies and predictions, humans are powerless to confront them, because it is beyond man’s comprehension as to what the Supreme can really do on ITS most precious creation.

Today there are more speakers in the world than listeners, indicating a time of heart’s need for answers. Yet, we have so much to say, so much to complain, so much to blame, that we forgot to listen. We only hear we don’t listen anymore. That is why we only hear the noise of the words people say. When people started talking about the outbreak of the pandemic, we only heard about it, when actually we should have listened with conscious attention. The soul listens, but ears hear.

What is this listening to?

When any crisis breaks in, whether we like it or not, we must comprehend carefully. Nature has given us the five senses for not just to use it as we wish. These senses were meant to be used for both our outside and inside the world. However, in the current time, humans are so overloaded with grievances that whatever they hear, it comes only as noise, and then act on their impulse. The effects of such impulsive actions can never bring benefits to humankind.

All of us have a Divine Nature within us, and if we had used the wisdom, which is inherent in our being, then we could have comprehended the messages in The Holy Scriptures, the sayings of the Mystics, the Masters, and the Sages lying with us, perhaps since the birth of our kind.

The nature of the gregarious locusts is a reflection of the violent nature inside us. The verse from the Bible ‘As you sow so shall you reap’, means whatever we do, good or bad, we will get repaid. But this has become a mere pet phrase.  The warning of the locusts invading on man has already been there, as written in The Bible, (Old Testament) Exodus 10, verse 12:15:

Exodus 10 verses 12:15, “(12) And the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail. (13) So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts; (14) they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again. (15) They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail—everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt.”

And again in Revelation 9, verse 3:6 it mentions about the arrival of the locusts and their nature, and the harm they may cause; verse 11 clearly mentions them as Destroyer:

3 And out of the smoke locusts came down on the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 They were not allowed to kill them but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes. 6 During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).

We need to believe that these are not just recorded texts or prophecies, they have been given to us as warnings, and at the same time, all the Laws of the Eternal have been laid down in all the Holy Scriptures of different religions, so that we may take them as shields to take care of ourselves well beforehand.

With the destruction phase coming one after the other, we are not getting time to take any preventive measures. With faith, let us be honest to learn the Way of Nature, and like the locusts, let us not change our behavioral pattern and habits under certain circumstances, and become gregarious.

If we can stop attacking one another, be careful enough in choosing our words, careful on all our demands, stop gossiping, then perhaps we can touch The Supreme, by demonstrating our prayers to salvage us.

PS: God/Nature/Almighty/Heaven no matter how we, the categorized people, refer to ourselves as, from the brink of the Creator’s threshold we’re all just souls.
