Global sportswear giant Adidas announces the launch of a high-performance face mask that will be initially launched in North America, Europe, and China, gradually dropping-in elsewhere.
The face mask, albeit not medical grade is designed to “help prevent the spread of transmissible viruses and germs, to help protect those around you.” Masks can help spread of respiratory droplets that spread COVID-19.

The launch comes at a time when many countries are gradually emerging from strict lockdown restrictions. According to the company, designing and supply chain reallocation was started last month and the product is being added to the collection from this week.
Adidas’s reusable facemask is made from the company’s propriety “Primegreen – high performance recycled fabric,” which is free from plastic and made of virgin material. The company promotes the product’s “soft, breathable cloth” is breathable and adapts to face during any activity.
Little more than just a face mask
Face masks has inadvertently become a part of life in the ‘new normal’ world. By the looks of current trends, face masks are there to stay. Health departments across the world recommend wearing face masks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, late 2019.

Adidas with this Face Cover is donating €2/$2 (or equivalent local currency) for every pack sold to Save The Children’s Global Coronavirus Response Fund.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends wearing cloth face masks in public areas, with high community-based transmissions, where social distancing is difficult to maintain.
“It is critical to emphasize that maintaining 6-feet social distancing remains important to slowing the spread of the virus. CDC is additionally advising the use of simple cloth face coverings to slow the spread of the virus and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.”
