VIDEO: A rare yellow turtle was spotted and rescued in Orissa’s Balasore

-

Residents of a village in Orissa’s Balasore district woke up to an unusual sight of a bright, tiny, and a yellow turtle, something that is very rarely seen.

A senior wildlife official told news agency ANI “I have never seen one like this,” adding that that whole body of the amphibian was yellow, including the shell and skin.

Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sushant Nanda shared the turtle on Twitter and wrote: “Most probably it was an albino. One such aberration was recorded by locals in Sindh a few years back.”

In the video the turtle can be seen swimming in some water, apparently in a tumbler.

According to NDTV, the tiny magic was rescued by the locals from Sujanpur village in Balasore district on Sunday. IFS officer in a threaded tweet pointed out the turtle’s pink eyes and said this is a mark of albinism.

People responding to the tweet appreciated the uniqueness of the turtle. ” The wonders of nature kudos to the people of #Balasore for rescuing this angel,” filmmaker Nila Madhav Panda wrote on Twitter. Several people said they’ve never seen anything like this before.

Just recently, video footage went viral on Indian and international media were numerous bright yellow frogs were jumping in a puddle of water on a rainy day.
